Alice's Restaurant Pilgrimage

After my Woodstock Pilgrimage we stayed the night in Stockbridge, MA -- famous for Norman Rockwell and Arlo Guthrie's run in with law enforcement. Keeping with a kind of 60's-themed trip I tried to visit some of the major points of interest in highlighted in Alice's Restaurant. I can't say I was totally satisfied by this, as I'm missing a few key things. First, the actual location that the trash was dumped. I guess this is someone's private property now, but I'm still not sure where it is. Second, I found the Stockbridge town dump, but I don't think this is the same one Arlo visited on that faithful Thanksgiving Day back in 1965 (if anyone can clue me in on the specifics here, I'd appreciate it). Finally, I found out after the fact that the Stockbridge Library has the original police photos of the scene of the crime in their archives. I would've loved to stop by and check those out. Next time for sure....

Other than that, here are some photos of the restaurant, church, police station, courthouse and the train station just 1/2 mile away. If you've seen the movie these should look very familiar to you...
