The Thanksgiving Song
THE THANKSGIVING SONG By Scott Pittman A whole bunch of years ago the Pilgrims and the Indians had a party. They all sat around a big, long table and had a feast. So, now we celebrate; call up Grandma and all the relatives. We watch Macy's Parade and watch some football and watch out cause here comes Christmas. Only 29 days left to go out shopping Thanks for the turkey Thanks for the bread Thanks for the gravy and potatoes And what more can be said except for Thanks for the stuffing Thanks for the wine Thanks for the peas and corn and carrots And thanks for the apple pie ! All the leaves are gone and it's starting to snow. Oh how beautiful. I know It's getting late and you've gotta go but I'll see you at Christmas. Now, I'll be eating leftovers for a week and doing dishes. And I've already seen five Christmas specials and a hundred Christmas advertisements. But before my Christmas lights go up I've got to say thanks ! For the turkey etc... Thanks for the cider Thanks for the squash Thanks for the walnuts and the pumpkin And thanks for the cran'bry sauce !
