Cockroach Cowboy

Cockroach Cowboy

COCKROACH COWBOY
Words by Dana Nelson
Music by Pete Bufano

I drive my herd across the range
Down the fridge across the plains
I'm a six legged cowboy on an eight legged steed
Doin a job collecting my feed

I live off garbage that humans won't eat
Old moldy twinkies and decaying meat
Death is always present in this rotting hell
There's no checkout time in our motel

But it's the life I live, It's the life I choose
Avoiding Combat and pointed shoes
I'm doin' a job making humans blanch
I'm a cockroach cowboy at Scumbag Ranch

Last night at chow we had a beef
Some scummy maggot was giving me grief
So I told that worm, "Hey, quit bothering me!
Go to the circus and bug the fleas"

He turned with death in his compound eyes and said,
" Go someplace else, cause this dump's mine!!!"
So I took my six legs, and I crushed his head
And on his carcass, the rest of us fed!

But it's the life I live, It's the life I choose
Avoiding Combat and pointed shoes
I'm doin' a job making humans blanch
I'm a cockroach cowboy at Scumbag Ranch

Well, now I seem to be having my doubts
Having to depend on when the garbage goes out
I've got ants in my pants and I need to roam
There's more to life than what's behind the stove

But it's the life I live, It's the life I choose
Avoiding Combat and pointed shoes
I'm doin' a job making humans blanch
I'm a cockroach cowboy at Scumbag Ranch
