A Man Named Bill
A MAN NAMED BILL
By R.C. Stevenson
In a town when all the lakes ran red
and blood poured from the skies
Where all there was to do was watch
your people slowly die
One man couldn't stand to see this
town called "Pain" be killed
So he swore an oath to save their souls
He was a man named Bill
He had three cowbells at his side
and whistles' round his neck
His bongo heads made from the skin of
men he beat to death
He rode across the barron lands
until he reached the hills
That stood outside this town called "Pain"
He was a man named Bill
He stood outside the edge of town
the wind blew through his hair
He made a sound that shook the ground
of all those far and near
Seven mighty thumps came from his drum
and echoed through the hills
He screamed, "I'm cleanin' up this town!!!
I am a man named Bill!"
He walked straight through the streets of town
a crowd: it gathered near
The robbers fainted out of fright
the killers shook with fear
Just then the town had seen something
they never seen before
The lakes of red had turned deep blue
the skies: they rained no more
He stood on the main street of town
and cheers soared from the crowd
He then blew his mighty whistle
silence blanketed the town
He took the sign that said, "WELCOME
TO PAIN" and ripped it down
He said,
"I hereby name this town:"TEWKSBURY.""YIPPEE!!!"
