Ossipee

Every summer (well more like 3 summers....) the gang would make a roadtrip to Ossipee, NH to visit my friend Shaggy who spent the season as a CAMP COUNSELOR (the wisdom and ramifications of this act are left to debate elsewhere. All I can say is that if your little darling attended Camp Calumet in the the late '80s and subsequently started showing an inclination towards The Greatful Dead, Wild Turkey, and The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, -- well, let's just say I'm not really surprised.) ANYWAY one summer we arrived and the camp was having some sort of talent show or variety show or something, and somehow my friends and I got promoted as some sort of famous band that was going to be at the show. So, we had to go out and "perform". Kevin and I wrote this song in Shaggy's parents' trailer about 8 minutes before going "on stage". I remember Kevin saying that the chorus reminded him of I Just Saw A Face by The Beatles (and that's okay with me).

There's West Ossipee & Central too
But it's all the same to me and you
It's a real neat place to have a great stay
We're gonna go to Ossipee today

Chorus: If it's all the same to you and me
We're gonna take a trip to Ossipee
It's Ossipee
OSSIPEE

Oh there's rivers and mountains, bears & fish
The Pizza Barn serves my favorite dish
It's a real neat place to have a great stay
We're gonna go to Ossipee today

Repeat Chorus
